Film criticism, interviews, and repertory notes
These terms cover how you may use what we publish, what happens when you send us a screening note or a pitch, and where the limits of our responsibility sit. They apply to every page on this site, including the blog entries and interview transcripts.
Screening diaries, interview transcripts, stills and ticket-stub graphics remain the property of the journal and the credited contributor. Short quotations with a link back to the original page are welcome. Republishing a piece in full, in print or online, requires written permission from us and, where relevant, from the contributor.
When you send a pitch or a screening note, you grant us a one-time right to edit and publish it. You keep authorship credit, and we will not run the same piece elsewhere under our name. We may decline a submission without giving reasons, and we do not return unsolicited material.
Stills and frame grabs are used for criticism, commentary and reporting on screenings. If you hold rights to an image and want it removed or credited differently, write to us and we will act on it.
The site is provided as-is. We cannot promise uninterrupted access, especially during festival weeks when traffic spikes and we are often in a booth rather than at a desk. Pages may be corrected, rewritten or taken down without notice.
Links to venues, festivals and film schools are offered for reference only. They do not imply endorsement, and we are not responsible for what those sites publish or for any booking, ticket or schedule decision you make based on them.
We may update these terms as the journal grows; the current version always sits on this page. If a disagreement comes up, write to us first and we will try to settle it by email conversation before anyone takes a formal step.
